U.S. Facilities and Operations:

Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS ) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Responsible for day-to-day operation of Laundry Services. Using data entry, order uniforms for all Plant and Division employees. Work as purchasing coordinator with uniform vendors. Wash, seal and prepare gowns and hoods for work centers. Maintain data entry record system using EXCEL and ACCESS as well as SAP. Maintain inventories of T-shirts, uniforms, gowns, hoods, special items and laundry supplies. Train and coordinate activities of assistants during peak periods.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Daily laundry duties: wash and dry gowns and hoods, operate washer/dryer (approximately 500 garments per day); operate heat sealing machine; receive, deliver and maintain clean room garment inventories for plant clean rooms; microbiological sample submission.
  • Customer service for Plant employees: address employee issues with respect to uniforms and goals; new uniform orders new hires, temps, replacements; maintain records regarding eligibility of employees; notification of employee uniform pickup; process returns and exchanges with employee and vendor.
  • Coordinate activities and training of assistants during peak periods.
  • Maintain lab garment inventories for Quality Control Laboratories.
  • Maintain record system for orders and inventory of garments.
  • Coordinate vendor activity for uniforms and specialty orders: place orders with vendor and submit requisitions to Purchasing; follow up on orders placed; receipt and handling of orders on SAP computer system; address issues with Supervisor assistance.
  • Coordinate vendor activity for buying and washing services (gloves).
  • Coordinate of machinery maintenance.
  • Scheduling and maintenance of all laundry deliveries (detergents, bags, etc.).
  • Coordinating all purchases with Purchasing group.
  • Manage employee payroll deductions for uniform and apparel sales.
  • Handle any/all exchanges, incorrect sizes, colors or styles.

  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate amount of uniforms and gowns are being supplied and returned.
Tools and Equipment
  • Care and attention paid to washer, dryer and heat sealer.
Safety of Others
  • Normal care and attention. Special care when working with heat sealer and laundry chemicals.
  • Work in other areas as needed.
Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications-Experience/Training/Education/Etc

Required:

Equivalent Education Level
  • Must have HS diploma or equivalent
Job Training and Experience
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Written Procedures in reference to the laundry of clean room gowning. Knowledge of clean room practices.
Knowledge Required
  • Knowledge of GMPs and written procedures.
  • Knowledge of Purchasing process.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
